Call John Boccieri today to defeat the Carbon Tax bill

There are two huge bills Democrats want passed in congress this summer that will strip al Americans of their hard earned money and take away personal freedom. One is the health care bill and the other is the tax on using CO2, the very air we breathe.  Today’s fight is against the Carbon Tax bill. This massive tax bill will raise the cost of everything you purchase that at some point along the way in it’s manufacture uses energy. Farmers use energy, electric utilities use energy, manufacturers use energy, and unless you are riding bicycles to work, you are using energy in your car.

I did my morning visit to  http://wattsupwiththat.com/ to get the latest news on climate change legislation and they had several posts that will inform you of the status of the Waxman-Markey massive carbon tax bill.  Watts Up With That, winner of the Science Blog of the Year, provides the most reliable information I’ve found  in issues surrounding global warming.  Today’s blog post is a call to action. Call or email John Boccieri if you live in the 16th congressional district and tell him to vote no against the Climate Tax bill. If you live outside the 16th congressional district, call the Washington Switchboard:   (202) 225-3876.  I know we are all getting sick of trying to keep our elected officials informed, but today is the day to hammer them with our phone calls.

1.  218 votes needed to win: Green Hell BLOG with pre-vote count on the Waxman-Markey Carbon cap and tax legislation.

218 needed to win…

Yes

Yes = 175
Leaning Yes = 35
TOTAL = 210

Undecided = 20

No

No = 190
Leaning No = 14
TOTAL = 204

In the leaning no category, John Boccieri Ohio’s 16th congressional district.Today, Nancy Pelosi and the congressional leadership are using strong armed tactics to push freshmen congressmen to vote for this monstrosity so John needs to hear from us today. We need to make sure his vote is a definate no.

If you’d like to contact him about a legislative issue, please e-mail him; or in Washington D.C.at (202) 225-3876, in Canton at (330) 489 4414 , or Toll Free at (800) 826 9015.

2)   CARBONGATE – Global Warming Study Censored by EPA

CEI is submitting a set of four EPA emails, dated March 12-17, 2009, which indicate that a significant internal critique of EPA’s position on Endangerment was essentially put under wraps and concealed.

    Thanks so much for the update - when I called Boccieri’s office yesterday they claimed they did not know which way he was leaning and said they were hearing from many people. Lets hope he makes the right choice.

    Sent the E-mails, made the calls got the busy signals. Waiting for the condescending reply.

    I just called Representative Boccieri’s office, again, to ask him not to vote on the Carbon Tax bill. I informed Cathie of my knowledge of geology and climate science and told her that at least 700 scientists are now strongly opposed to the idea that CO2 causes climate variability. We are in a solar minimum and global average temperatures are falling.

    This bill is a massive tax increase and to vote in favor of the Waxman-Hawley bill would be grossly irresponsible. I have a long memory and will remember how he votes on this issue when it comes election time.
